Loneliness is a growing social challenge. People live longer, and families increasingly live in different cities, different countries, sometimes different continents.
When an elderly relative becomes frail and needs residential care, family members and care staff cannot always be there in person. Even in the very best care settings, residents crave conversation: the same conversation a familiar face could give them, if only they could be there.
